South Devon MP Caroline Voaden has continued her efforts to secure a banking hub in Totnes, questioning a Treasury Minister in Parliament on Tuesday, 4 November.
Ms Voaden asked if new regulation is needed to help rural areas retain face-to-face banking services, noting that while the Financial Conduct Authority protects access to cash, there is no government body overseeing access to these services.
Lloyds Banking Group will be preventing customers from cashing cheques at Post Offices from January next year.
