Bam Adebayo left the Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets game on Wednesday after injuring his left foot. Although listed as questionable, the 28-year-old did not return to the court. At the time of this report, Miami was trailing 122-112 in the fourth quarter.
Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald shared an update, reporting that Adebayo suffered a left foot injury early in the game. He tweeted,
“Bam Adebayo not on the court for the start of the second half. Kel'el Ware starting in Adebayo's place.”
The injury occurred just eight minutes into the game, and Adebayo appeared to be in significant pain, leading to his removal from play.
One fan commented,
“Obviously Bam going down was unexpected but still competing vs the #1 offense and a top 5 defense is still so much build off of. Last year's team would’ve lost by 35. There shouldn’t ever be a rebound disparity of 20 rebounds that deflating and gives the other team more attempts.”
Another supporter added,
“Was always gonna be tough with Bam. Made impossible once he didn’t come back in. Proud of the effort the group showed.. hopefully Nikola Jokic can give Niko some advice while he's there. Hopefully Bam's injury isn’t too bad, but the fact there wasn’t an update concerns me.”
Before his injury, Adebayo was averaging 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists with a shooting percentage of 46%.
Bam Adebayo's left foot injury early in the Heat's game against the Nuggets significantly impacted the team's performance and raised concerns among fans due to a lack of immediate updates.
