Last month, an American man and his teenage son succumbed after being attacked by wasps at an adventure camp in Laos. The incident occurred during their zipline descent at Green Jungle Park, near Luang Prabang.

The two were stung repeatedly, over 100 times, causing severe anaphylactic shock. They were initially treated at a local clinic before being transferred to Luang Prabang Provincial Hospital, where their conditions rapidly deteriorated.
“The son was unconscious and passed away after half an hour, while the father was conscious and passed away about three hours later,” said Jorvue Yianouchongteng, the ER physician.
