Cadets to Hold Vigil Prior to Remembrance Day Service in Brantford

Brantford joins communities across Canada in honoring those who served and continue serving during times of war and peace. Citizens are invited to attend and pay tribute to these sacrifices.

“We encourage members of our community to join us on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as we remember, with deep respect and immense gratitude, the remarkable sacrifices of others,” said Sharon Sayles, communications advisor for the City of Brantford.

Cadet Vigil and Memorial Illumination

Cadets will hold a vigil from 6 p.m. to midnight on Monday, resuming again at 7 a.m. The Brant War Memorial will remain illuminated throughout the night.

Remembrance Day March and Ceremony

During the ceremony, a fly-past by a B-25 Mitchell bomber and a FF46 Firefly aircraft from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton is planned, weather permitting.

Special Presentation

A student from John’s College, winner of a local speech-writing competition, will deliver a speech titled The Role of Canadian Soldiers in War One.

Remembrance of Veterans

The ceremony will also honor one First World War veteran and 22 Second World War veterans whose names were identified as missing from the Brant War Memorial earlier this year.

Summary: Brantford's Remembrance Day events will include a cadet vigil, a commemorative march, special speeches, and recognition of missing veterans to honor their sacrifices with respect and gratitude.
