On Wednesday evening, residents across southeastern Manitoba witnessed another stunning display of the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. The spectacle illuminated the night sky and drew the attention of many across the region.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the dazzling light show was visible throughout much of Canada. Residents in central Manitoba were expected to enjoy a second evening of aurora activity, weather permitting.
One Steinbach resident noted that the lights were so vivid and active they triggered their doorbell alarm, alerting the family to step outside and take in the sight.
Many others took advantage of the clear skies to drive into the countryside and experience the natural wonder firsthand. A collection of photos capturing the event was later shared on the Mix 96 and Country 107 Facebook pages.
