Pierce County deputies engaged in a shootout with a domestic violence suspect at a home on Puyallup's South Hill on Sunday.

The incident began with reports of gunfire, as a 45-year-old suspect fired shots and threatened three others at a home near Puyallup's South Hill Mall.

According to Pierce County Sheriff's Spokesperson Carly Cappetto,

a woman and two children had fled the home through a back window
to escape the danger.

When deputies arrived, another exchange of gunfire occurred, with at least one deputy firing their service weapon. The suspect eventually surrendered.
