During a visit to Philadelphia, the Navy's chief of operations, Admiral Daryl Caudle, discussed the military's role in a time of heightened tension.
When we get a demand signal for our troops to be deployed anywhere under a lawful order, it is my goal to provide those troops for the missions that the Secretary of War wants to actually utilize them for.
Admiral Caudle stated that he would follow "lawful" orders to deploy troops "anywhere", including U.S. cities.
