Man Found Guilty of Injuring Elderly Person

A jury in the 111th District Court convicted Leiser Serrano-Forte of a first-degree felony for injuring an elderly person, resulting in serious bodily harm. Serrano-Forte was sentenced to 10 years of probation.

The incident occurred on August 8, 2021, when the Laredo Police Department responded to an assault call. Upon arrival, they found Salvador Arredondo lying on the floor.

Arredondo stated that he saw a tractor-trailer on his property and approached the driver, Serrano-Forte, telling him to leave since he was on private property.

Serrano-Forte claimed that someone had given him permission to park there. As Arredondo walked towards his truck to call the police, Serrano-Forte assaulted him.

The jury found Serrano-Forte guilty, and he was assessed 10 years of probation.
