Brodie Kostecki will start his defence of the Bathurst 1000 from the front of the grid after scoring pole at the Mountain for the third successive season.
Running last in the top-ten shootout, Kostecki failed to match the record-breaking lap he had set in first qualifying on Friday, but was still able to prevent Cam Waters from grabbing top spot, lapping a tenth of a second quicker.
The top four spots on the grid are occupied by Ford drivers, with Chaz Mostert and Ryan Wood locking out row two behind Kostecki and Waters.
“It’s just amazing honestly, that in lap was something special seeing all the fans, and getting all the cheers over the fence,”
Kostecki said, adding that he is looking forward to sharing the car with co-driver Toddy Hazelwood.
