Nabholz Construction has broken ground on a new fire station, training facility, and bowling alley in Sedalia, Missouri.
The facilities were designed by Hoefer Welker. The 8,585-square-foot fire station will replace the previous one and feature a three-bay fire apparatus facility, six bunk rooms, a dayroom, and a fitness room.
The station will be built using a hot zone design approach to decrease firefighters’ exposure to smoke, carcinogens, and toxic chemicals. It will also have a dedicated gear decontamination area and advanced air pressurization and thermal comfort systems.
According to Hoefer Welker, the new facilities will provide a safe and comprehensive space for firefighters and the community.
