RedWest Music Festival Canceled Due to Severe Weather
Tens of thousands of people were forced to take shelter on Saturday evening as a storm hit Salt Lake City, resulting in the cancellation of the RedWest music festival several hours early.
The festival was in its second day at the Utah State Fairpark, with Post Malone scheduled to headline Saturday night, following Kacey Musgraves on Friday and preceding Noah Kahan on Sunday.
- Attendees were notified via the festival's mobile app to pause the shows shortly before 5:15 p.m.
- Organizers then announced on social media that everyone needed to gather their belongings, leave the venue, and take shelter.
“From the bathrooms, to the tents... now we’re in this random building," said Alan Scott from Idaho. "Luckily these nice people let us in.
People without nearby cars took shelter in buses and nearby businesses.
