US Federal Judge Orders ICE to Wear Body Cameras

A US District Judge, Sara Ellis, has ordered federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to wear body cameras during enforcement activities and interactions with the public in Chicago.

This order follows a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) issued by Judge Ellis last week, which will remain in effect until November 6.

I live in Chicago if folks haven’t noticed. And I’m not blind.

According to the TRO, ICE is prohibited from using riot control weapons, including less-lethal shotguns and tear gas, against protestors and journalists unless necessary to prevent harm.

In situations where the use of such weapons is deemed necessary, ICE must provide at least two warnings and a reasonable opportunity to comply.
