The Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) has issued a public health advisory on the onset of the Lassa Fever season, warning of a potential transmission risk across the country.
According to the Director-General of the Centre, Dr Muhammad Adamu Abbas, the public alert was prompted by a national advisory from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), indicating a possible increase in the risk of Lassa Fever transmission between October and May.
The state is vulnerable to potential outbreaks due to its ecological and environmental conditions.
Dr Abbas urged citizens to maintain high levels of hygiene and adhere to preventive measures to mitigate the risk of transmission.
