The "No Kings" demonstrations will take place on Saturday in the nation's capital and communities across the U.S., marking the third mass mobilization since Trump's return to the White House and expected to be the largest.
The protests come amidst a government shutdown that has closed federal programs and services, and is testing the balance of power as the executive confronts Congress and the courts in ways that organizers warn are a slide toward American authoritarianism.
Trump is currently away from Washington at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.
The GOP calls the protests "Hate America" rallies.
