Changes to Cinema Under the Stars series and Jannali Moonrise Festival
Pre-show family entertainment and activities will be a new feature of the Cinema Under the Stars series in Sutherland Shire, starting at the end of this month.

- Water slides
- Face painting
- Parkour demonstrations
- Live DJ sets
- Food trucks
The Jannali Moonrise Festival will also be enhanced, with a dedicated Youth Zone.
The changes are included in Sutherland Shire Council's Events and Activations Plan 2026-2030, adopted at this week's meeting.
A New Year's Eve fireworks display will be trialled in the Menai area, at Blaxland Drive Oval, Illawong.
The Cinema Under the Stars program starts on Friday, October 31 at Corea Street Oval, Miranda, with the Halloween-themed Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (PG).
