Sonoma Conservatory of Dance Faces Funding Challenges

Despite steady community support, the Sonoma Conservatory of Dance is struggling to recover and needs the community's help to keep its mission alive.

For 55 years, the conservatory has taught generations of Sonoma Valley children to move with grace and confidence. To ensure accessible dance education, class tuition is set at 10% below operating costs and summer camps are offered at 45% below cost.

The organization has also offered over $50,000 in tuition assistance to families who could not afford lessons. According to SCD board member Tracy Barriero, the studio hopes to form new community partnerships and inspire larger contributions to ensure its long-term future.
