Why I Still Love Newspapers
I am a week late to this discussion, as I wanted to share my experiences from 20 years ago in Iraq with the brave men and women of Georgia's 48th Brigade Combat Team, where I had a close encounter with an IED.
Last week marked National Newspaper Week, which holds a special place for me. As someone with the privilege of sharing my thoughts with readers, courtesy of the editors, I feel grateful for this platform.
With nearly three decades of experience, I have formed meaningful connections with regular readers, despite never having met them in person. You, the readers, have been with me through both good times and bad, offering constructive criticism when needed.
I've been at this for almost three decades and over that time, I have made good friends with readers I hear from regularly and will likely never meet face-to-face.
