Discovery of 60 Bodies at Clandestine Burial Site
Authorities have confirmed the discovery of 60 bodies at a clandestine burial site near Hermosillo, with five men arrested in connection with the incident.
The Sonora Attorney General's Office (FGJE) reported that the bodies, all of men, were found in a rural area of western Hermosillo, next to Highway 26, and were victims of a "settling of scores of organized crime".
The discovery was made in early 2025, and was initially reported by a local news outlet, which obtained the information from "a collective of searching mothers", between late January and early February.
The bodies were found in a "search site" in a rural part of the municipality of Hermosillo.
