Parolee Seeks Lighter Sentence for Reckless Driving
A 32-year-old man from Shellharbour is arguing that his sentence is too harsh after being jailed for "extraordinarily dangerous driving" while on parole.
Trent Arndell was seen by police speeding through Windang, Primbee, and Warrawong, exceeding the posted speed limits on the morning of September 19.
- He overtook multiple vehicles at or near the 60km/h limit on Windang Road.
- As the speed limit changed to 80km/h, he merged across two lanes, cutting off other motorists at an estimated 90-100km/h.
- He then tailgated another vehicle in the middle lane.
Arndell reached speeds of up to 160km/h, more than double the speed limit, in a show of reckless driving.
