Robert Irwin's Emotional Dance Dedication
Robert Irwin, a 21-year-old wildlife conservationist, dedicated his dance to all mothers and anyone experiencing grief after loss on "Dancing with the Stars" dedication night, honoring his mom, Terri Irwin.
Backstage, Robert explained that the emotional contemporary dance was difficult to process internally, as it included grief over the loss of his late father, Steve Irwin.
It was really hard to express that and really hard to actually get through a dance while internally you’re processing and getting all of these emotions out there
The dance ended with Terri joining her son, leaving the audience and judges in tears. Robert described the experience as
a weight lifted.
