Many people attended an open house and anniversary celebration at The Jena Times office in Jena, as the newspaper celebrated 120 years of service to the parish.
The event, held on October 8, allowed the newspaper to express its appreciation to all of its advertisers and supporters, including state and local elected officials and executives in parish industry and local businesses.
The local newspaper, founded in 1905, is the oldest, continuously operated business in LaSalle Parish.
“We really wanted to just hold a small event for our newspaper’s anniversary and were so blessed by the number of people who attended,”said current owners Craig and Kim Franklin.
The Franklins expressed their deep appreciation to all who attended and made the day special, saying
“Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.”
