Milford Baptist Church celebrated Pastor Clarence Howard's 20th anniversary as pastor of the church.
Pastor Howard was born in Easley, S.C., and grew up in Pickens County. He attended Clemson University, earning a bachelor's degree in social work, and later received his theological training at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Howard credits Pastor Garland Sentell of Pickens, S.C., with teaching him a great work ethic, citing Sentell's daily hospital visits as an inspiration.
Pastor Howard's use of alliteration in his sermons was inspired by Dean M. Weaver, pastor of Forest Hill Baptist Church in Anderson, S.C.
