Wuhan Open: Prize Money and Points for Sabalenka and Paolini
Aryna Sabalenka's bid for a fourth consecutive Wuhan Open title was thwarted, but she still gained valuable points.
Sabalenka and Jasmine Paolini's campaigns ended in the semi-finals. Sabalenka lost to Jessica Pegula 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2), while Paolini fell to Coco Gauff 6-4, 6-3.
Paolini had earlier upset six-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals, claiming her first career win over the Polish player.
Sabalenka started with a 20-0 record at the tournament and an 8-2 lead in her head-to-head record against Pegula.
