Windows 10 End of Life is today, October 14, 2025, but users can extend its lifespan with the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
The ESU program allows users to continue receiving updates, and it can be purchased for $30. This option is available for those who want to use Windows 10 with a local account.
- Users in the EU can get free Windows 10 ESU with a Microsoft account.
- Users outside the EU need to sync Settings to OneDrive in addition to having a Microsoft account.
- In the US, users can also use 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to sign up for Windows 10 ESU.
Users can extend Windows 10 support by clicking “Enroll now” on the Windows Update page, linking their Microsoft account and syncing Settings to OneDrive.
Microsoft offers an alternative for those who do not have a Microsoft account or Rewards points: a $30 ESU subscription, now available in the Store.
