The Director of Public Service Management (DPSM), Gaone Macholo, has dismissed suggestions by labour unions that the budget for remuneration adjustments might be depleted.
Labour unions under the 5+1 cooperating unions banner are challenging an Industrial Court ruling that allowed the employer to implement its agreement with the Botswana Land Boards, Local Authorities and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU).
The Industrial Court had lifted a temporary interdict that barred the implementation of the salary agreement between BLLAHWU and the DPSM.
The Court of Appeal will hear arguments in the case today.
