Marshall Athletics' Future Excites New Director

Marshall Director of Athletics, Gerald Harrison, is optimistic about the future of the Thundering Herd amidst the changing landscape of college athletics.

Harrison addressed the university's Board of Governors, discussing new rules, including a single transfer portal window for college football players in January.

"That puts us in a little bit of a crunch to get student-athletes here before the drop/add date, but we do know that whatever team we have at that point in January, we know that's the team that we will field—more than likely the majority of them—through the fall,"

Harrison views this change as an improvement, although it may have come a year too late, following significant turnover in the Marshall football program after head coach Charles Huff's departure.

Harrison believes the Herd won't back down from challenges, and many new developments will benefit the team.

Author's summary: Harrison is excited about the future of Marshall athletics.
