Measles Outbreak in Minnesota

Minnesota has reported two more measles cases, bringing the total to 20, with 18 of the cases being in children. The two newly reported cases involve unvaccinated children in Ramsey and Hennepin counties.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, 15 of the 20 cases have been from exposures within the United States, 4 have been imported cases, and 1 case-patient has an unknown exposure.

Last year, Minnesota reported 70 measles cases, but zero in 2023. The children likely contracted measles from an unvaccinated adult.

Measles Outbreak in Mexico

In Mexico, a large ongoing measles outbreak has resulted in 22 deaths, with 4,879 confirmed cases reported through October 11, mostly in Chihuahua state.

No vaccination, no protection.
