A wave that has been tracked for the last few days has developed into Tropical Storm Lorenzo.
As of 5 am Monday, TS Lorenzo was located approximately 1095 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, moving northwest at 17 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 45 miles per hour.
Lorenzo is expected to remain in the open waters of the Atlantic, making a turn to the north on Tuesday and then a gradual turn to the northeast.
While it is forecast to strengthen, there is uncertainty regarding whether Lorenzo will become a hurricane.
