Refusal to Issue Visas for Members of Iran’s Football Federation Is Illegal

He called on relevant international organizations, including FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), to address the issue and prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Call for Accountability

Gharibabadi urged diplomatic and sporting authorities to uphold fairness and impartiality in all international competitions. He reiterated that sporting events must remain free from any political or ideological influence, ensuring equal participation for every country's representatives.

Iran's Foreign Ministry plans to file a formal complaint and pursue the matter through diplomatic and legal channels, seeking to hold those responsible accountable for violating international commitments and fair practice principles.

“If left unaddressed, such precedents will encourage further politicization of sports globally,” Gharibabadi warned.
