Topper could have been better in the playoffs. The Game 2 bunt decision will live in infamy. Maybe the bullpen could have been managed a little bit better.
However, most Phillies fans would probably agree that the bats were the biggest problem, considering that they mustered a whopping four hits in an elimination game. Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, and Kyle Schwarber went 1 for 14 in game four with four strikeouts.
It was the hitting that really let the team down, again. A stronger case for firing could be made for Kevin Long than Rob Thomson.
Author's summary: Rob Thomson keeps his job as Phillies manager.
