Annandale Cardinals Claim First State Championship in School History

The Annandale Cardinals defeated the Oakton Cougars 20-14 to claim their first state championship in school history.

This was the Cardinals' first appearance in the state championship game, and they were led by quarterback Tyler Fiedler, who threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns.

Annandale's defense also played a crucial role in the game, holding Oakton to just 14 points and forcing two turnovers.

"I'm so proud of our team and coaches," said Cardinals head coach Aaron Ricker. "We worked tirelessly all season to get to this point, and it's amazing to see it all pay off."

With this win, Annandale becomes the first school in Fairfax County to win a state championship in football.

The Cardinals finished the season with a 12-2 record and have cemented their place in school history.
