Betfred Super League

The Betfred Super League is the top-level professional rugby league competition in Europe. It was established in 1996 as the Rugby Football League Championship, and was rebranded as the Betfred Super League in 2019.

The competition was founded in 1996 as the Rugby Football League Championship, with the top eight teams from the First Division competing against each other. The competition was won by St. Helens in its first season.
