F1 legend Michael Schumacher has stayed out of public sight since his severe skiing accident in December 2013 that caused critical brain injuries. The German motorsport star, aged 56, fell while skiing off-piste in the French Alps, hitting his head on a rock despite wearing a helmet. He was urgently flown to hospital and placed in a medically induced coma for several months. Later, he was moved to his family's home on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, where he receives continuous medical care.
Almost 12 years have passed, yet details about Schumacher's health remain scarce. His condition is described as deeply challenging. Reports indicate he is mostly confined to bed, cannot speak, and depends on a team of about 15 caregivers for his daily needs.
Finnish neurosurgeon Dr. Jussi Posti, who follows Schumacher's case, recently said the condition has probably been stable since the accident.
"Based on the information available, I don't think he leads a very active life,"
he told Finnish media outlet Iltalehti.
German broadcaster Felix Gorner shared a similar perspective:
"A person... who can no longer express himself through language," adding that it is "a very sad state of affairs."
Michael Schumacher remains under extensive care with a stable but severely limited condition, while his family's privacy shields most details from the public eye.
