The National Botanical Garden in Mirpur, Dhaka, has introduced a digital ticketing system designed to simplify visitor access, enhance transparency, and promote eco-friendly practices.
The platform was officially launched on Wednesday by Dr Farhina Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, during a ceremony at the garden.
“Through this e-ticketing platform, efficiency in garden management will increase, and new opportunities for research will emerge.”
Dr Ahmed emphasized that the initiative will support forest and biodiversity conservation while raising public awareness about environmental protection.
Visitors can now purchase QR code-enabled tickets via the myGov online portal (www.nbg.portal.gov.bd) or the Forest Department’s website. Tickets may be displayed directly on smartphones or printed for entry.
This new approach helps avoid long queues, saves time, and ensures full transparency in ticket sales. The reduction of paper use also promotes environmental sustainability.
The initiative is a joint project between the Forest Department and a2i. It reflects the government’s broader efforts to digitize public services and enhance visitor experiences.
