Chasing a target of 165, New Zealand struggled at 108/9 after an early batting collapse. Santner, however, partnered Jacob Duffy to forge a 50-run unbeaten stand that took the hosts close to the finish line. Despite their efforts, the Kiwis finished at 157/9, with Santner remaining unbeaten on 55 runs off 28 balls.
Earlier in the match, West Indies captain Shai Hope anchored his team’s innings with a composed 53 from 39 deliveries. The visitors reached 164/6 after opting to bat first on a pitch offering variable bounce and pace.
