MOL Takes Delivery of 210,000 DWT LNG Dual-Fuel Bulk Carrier
On November 5, China State Shipbuilding Corporation Beihai Shipbuilding, together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), hosted the delivery and naming ceremony for the fourth 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier named “RURI EARTH”. The vessel was built for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).
As the flagship among the first four bulk carriers constructed by Beihai Shipbuilding for MOL, the successful delivery of “RURI EARTH” signifies the culmination of the companies’ first collaborative project.
Technical Features
- Designed by China Ship Design & Research Center Co., Ltd. (CSDC).
- Overall length: 299.95 meters.
- Beam width: 50 meters.
- Equipped with an LNG dual-fuel propulsion system.
- Compliant with the latest environmental standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Development and Efficiency
Beihai Shipbuilding applied the principle of
“full-lifecycle green development”throughout the construction process, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and environmental performance. This approach aligns with its long-term vision of “building high-quality vessels”.
The new series of bulk carriers produced under this initiative has earned positive evaluations from shipowner MOL, the classification society ClassNK, and numerous charterers.
