Mike Pompeo, the 70th Secretary of State and former CIA Director, has become a special advisor to the National Cold War Center (NCWC) in Blytheville. He brings extensive diplomatic and military experience to help support the museum’s mission and growth.
In his advisory position, Pompeo will collaborate with the NCWC Board of Directors and National Advisory Board. His focus will be on guiding the Center’s strategic direction, fundraising efforts, and educational outreach initiatives.
“The National Cold War Center’s mission of educating Americans on the Cold War and America’s stunning triumph over Soviet tyranny is more important than ever,” said Secretary Pompeo. “I’m proud to be part of this important effort to advance the understanding of this critical period in world history.”
Dr. Christian Ostermann, Executive Director of the NCWC, praised Pompeo’s involvement, emphasizing his global perspective and credibility.
“Secretary Pompeo has been active on the international stage since first being elected to Congress in 2010,” Ostermann said. “As America’s top diplomat, he brings a unique perspective and global credibility that will significantly advance our mission to tell the story of the Cold War from both sides of the Iron Curtain.”
Pompeo is a West Point graduate and a veteran of the U.S. military.
