National Cold War Center Executive Director Dr. Christian Ostermann met with members of the Blytheville Lions Club and Rotary Club to discuss the ongoing development of the National Cold War Center project.
Ostermann shared that the center’s construction is planned to begin in 2027, with a hopeful opening the following year. The initiative represents a $75 million investment aimed at preserving Cold War history and insight.
“There’s a lot of momentum that we have right now. We’re at the beginning of our major fundraising campaign. This is a $75 million project. That’s a lot of money to raise, and we’ve raised some of it… We have brought on a professional fundraising firm that is helping us really with a national capital campaign,” said Dr. Ostermann.
“Former Secretary of State and former CIA Director, Michael Pompeo, has just joined the effort, which is really great,” added Ostermann.
The center’s leadership actively connects with local civic organizations to share progress and strengthen regional support for the national project.
