On Monday, 10 November 2025, Jetstar announced its largest expansion to date from Melbourne Avalon Airport. The airline will launch new international flights to Bali, restart services to Adelaide, and increase connections to Brisbane.
This growth will introduce more than 330,000 additional low-fare seats annually through Melbourne’s second major airport, offering travelers more affordable options while boosting tourism and Victoria’s economic activity.
The new Bali service marks Jetstar’s first international route from Melbourne Avalon, representing a significant milestone for the carrier and the airport. Flights begin on 23 March 2026, operating five return services weekly on Jetstar’s modern Airbus A321LR aircraft.
This route will provide over 120,000 seats annually between Avalon and Bali (Denpasar), with a direct flight time of just over six hours. It offers travelers from Melbourne, Geelong, the Surf Coast, and the Bellarine Peninsula a convenient gateway to one of Australia’s favorite holiday destinations.
To celebrate the expansion, Jetstar is holding a 48-hour sale from midday today. Domestic fares start from $29, while fares to Bali are available from $199.
“Jetstar’s Avalon expansion opens new opportunities for travelers and strengthens Victoria’s travel network.”
