Mark Guidi suggests one top candidate will not join Celtic

Celtic's search for a new manager has sparked plenty of speculation, with numerous names linked to the job following Brendan Rodgers' resignation. Among the leading preferences of supporters is Kjetil Knutsen, while Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is also reportedly interested.

Other potential candidates mentioned include Craig Bellamy and Robbie Keane. However, one name drawing particular attention is Club Brugge boss Nicky Hayen, known for turning the Belgian side into one of Europe’s most entertaining teams in recent years.

“I think Nicky Hayen is probably their thoughts at Brugge. But I’m kind of thinking with him, he’s got such a really good CV and then you look at the result the other night, he might be, with the greatest respect, better than Scottish football now. I think he’s looking at England or La Liga or something for his next job. I think he’s gone beyond that.”

Mark Guidi shared this opinion on the Go Radio Football Show, suggesting that Hayen’s ambitions lie in the Premier League or La Liga rather than a move to Glasgow.

Author’s Summary

Mark Guidi believes Nicky Hayen will pursue opportunities in England or Spain rather than taking over as Celtic’s new manager.
