Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-wong), the Philippines’ 21st tropical cyclone of 2025, is advancing toward the archipelago, bringing torrential rains and extremely powerful winds. PAGASA has advised the public to stay alert as widespread flooding, landslides, and storm surges are expected.
Although Uwan is projected to make landfall over Luzon, its massive diameter means that regions across the Visayas and Mindanao will also experience varying degrees of impact. Authorities continue to issue forecasts and warnings about the typhoon’s movement, rainfall intensity, and wind signals.
PAGASA warned residents to remain vigilant for potential hazards, including floods, landslides, and storm surges.
The Philippine Red Cross Pampanga-Angeles City Chapter has distributed hot meals and conducted community health activities for residents affected by the storm in Lubao, Pampanga, on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Veterinary Department Response Team rescued several animals stranded by flooding, including a dog in Barangay Paltok and multiple stray cats caught in the storm’s path.
