After scoring 21 goals last season, the 33-year-old veteran winger Brendan Gallagher has struggled to score this season. Last year, he ranked third in goals for the Canadiens behind Cole Caufield (37) and Nick Suzuki (30).
Following Tuesday night’s 5-4 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Gallagher remained without a goal in 13 games this season. In contrast, last season he had five goals after 13 games and seven goals after 15 games.
Despite the lack of goals, Gallagher contributed seven assists in these first 13 games this season. The question remains: how concerning is his goal drought?
"That’s the question answered on this Hockey Inside/Out bonus episode," said The Gazette’s Stu Cowan, joined by former Canadiens teammates and 1986 Stanley Cup champions Chris Nilan and Rick Green.
Two more bonus episodes are expected in the coming days. If you haven’t yet, subscribe to the Hockey Inside/Out YouTube channel for updates.
Brendan Gallagher’s contributions to the Canadiens extend beyond just goals, highlighting his ongoing value to the team despite his current scoring challenges.
