Hayley Williams released “Showbiz,” a surprise track from her third solo album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which officially launched on vinyl today.
“Showbiz” joins “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute” as bonus songs added after the initial 17-track collection Williams released earlier this summer through her label, Post Atlantic, and Secretly Distribution.
Williams co-wrote “Showbiz” with producer and longtime collaborator Daniel James, who contributed throughout the album. The track depicts a romantic moment shimmering under club lights, captured in Williams’ lyrics:
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me.”
She then questions if the experience held the same weight for the other person.
The accompanying visualizer highlights Nashville’s skyline and features the distinctive scribble art Williams has incorporated across the album’s design.
To mark the vinyl release, record stores worldwide hosted “Ego Nite” events, featuring album playback, exclusive merchandise, and physical copies of the LP.
