Colorado State University is adjusting its practice approach ahead of Saturday’s matchup against UNLV, focusing on executing plays quickly and maintaining discipline throughout the game.
Defensive back Jake Jarmolowich emphasized that preparation remains consistent each week, regardless of the opponent, though he expects a strong challenge from UNLV.
"I think it's like any other week, to be honest. I've said it a lot, it's going back to our 1/11s — if everyone does their jobs and we contain this quarterback and we do what we're supposed to do, we're gonna be just fine," he said.
"I think any game, any opponent, you have to be as disciplined as possible. If you're not, you're gonna overset a gap, you're gonna go over the top and you're supposed to be the inside or wherever it might be. I think with the quarterback, it's just a little thing in the back of your head you've got to keep in mind."
UNLV leads the Mountain West in scoring offense, averaging 36.9 points per game. Their lowest total of the season came in a 30-point victory over UCLA in early September, while their highest was a 51-point effort in a 51–48 win over Air Force.
The Rebels also excel in rushing, ranking second in the conference at 193.4 yards per game and averaging 5.39 yards per carry.
Colorado State’s defense is preparing for one of the most explosive offenses in the Mountain West, aiming for a disciplined and unified performance on Saturday.
