The UNLV football team aims to end a two-game losing streak when it plays Colorado State on Saturday at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Rebels, holding a 6–2 record overall and 2–2 in the Mountain West, are seeking to stay in contention for their third straight appearance in the conference championship game.
UNLV is coming off a narrow 40–35 defeat to New Mexico, in which its defense allowed 532 total yards, including 401 through the air. Another setback would seriously harm their championship hopes.
This marks UNLV’s first trip to Colorado State since 2019. Their most recent scheduled meeting in Fort Collins in 2020 was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests. The Rams, meanwhile, stand at 2–6 overall and 1–3 in conference play. They recently dismissed head coach Jay Norvell midway through his fourth season.
Under interim coach Tyson Summers, Colorado State dropped its first game 28–0 against rival Wyoming on October 25. The Rams have won seven consecutive home games against UNLV and aim to extend that streak.
