Mail delivery from Bermuda to Canada is scheduled to restart on Monday, following the ongoing rotating strike by Canada Post employees. Operations had been halted since late September due to the nationwide industrial action.
A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed that although shipments will resume, some delays are still expected because of ongoing disruptions in Canada.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time,”
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced last month that the nationwide strike would be replaced by a series of rotating strikes, enabling partial service restoration.
Additionally, the BPO announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
Bermuda Post resumes mail to Canada after strike-related suspension, but warns of possible delays and temporary early closures.
