The Golden State Warriors start their NBA Cup campaign with a Friday night game against the Denver Nuggets. Tip-off is at 7:00 PM PT in Denver, and the game will be available on Prime Video.
Golden State recently lost to the Sacramento Kings 121–116 on Wednesday. Both teams were missing key players: the Warriors without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green; the Kings without Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis.
Despite the absences, the Warriors’ young players showed promise. Moses Moody and rookie Will Richard combined for 58 points. Sacramento's experienced lineup secured their win, bolstered by Russell Westbrook’s triple-double of 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.
“Following Wednesday’s loss, Steve Kerr delivered a pointed message about the team’s careless turnovers.”
The Warriors allowed 30 points from 19 turnovers against Sacramento and currently rank fourth in the league with 17.2 turnovers per game. Kerr emphasized the importance of reducing turnovers for a stronger showing tonight.
Golden State aims to improve ball control and rely on its young talent as they face Denver without key players, focusing on tighter defense and minimizing mistakes.
Author’s note: The Warriors' success against the Nuggets will depend on limiting turnovers and key players’ availability.
