Isaiah Hartenstein set a new career high with 33 points and 19 rebounds as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Sacramento Kings 132–101 on Friday night.
The 7-foot center was unstoppable inside, connecting on 14 of 17 field goal attempts while also tallying three assists and three blocks. His dominant performance helped Oklahoma City secure their first win of the NBA Cup tournament.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 30 points, leading the Thunder (9–1) to rebound after their only loss of the season in Portland. Cason Wallace scored 15 points, and Isaiah Joe contributed 13, helping the Thunder maintain control of the game throughout.
Oklahoma City capitalized on Sacramento’s missing big man, Domantas Sabonis, who sat out his second straight game with sore ribs. Without him, the Kings were outscored 60–34 in the paint.
Russell Westbrook, now playing for Sacramento but once a nine-year veteran with the Thunder and the franchise’s all-time leading scorer, posted 24 points and nine assists against his former team.
The Thunder’s win marked their second victory over the Kings in just 11 days. In their October meeting, the Kings had a healthy Sabonis while Oklahoma City played without Chet Holmgren. This time the roles were reversed, with Sabonis on the sideline and Holmgren contributing 10 points and seven rebounds.
“It was a complete reversal this time — Sabonis watched from the bench in street clothes while Holmgren had 10 points and seven rebounds.”
Isaiah Hartenstein’s breakout night powered the Thunder to a 132–101 victory, underscoring Oklahoma City’s depth and momentum early in the NBA season.
