The global girl group KATSEYE, whose popularity surged this year, received Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
They expressed gratitude toward the Recording Academy and fellow nominees:
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
The group’s rise this year follows early recognition from the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which highlighted their transformation from aspiring pop artists to global stars.
KATSEYE was formed through the YouTube competition series Dream Academy, a project by K-pop giant Hybe and Geffen Records aimed at creating the first global girl group.
KATSEYE’s Grammy nominations mark a milestone that fulfills their longtime dreams, showcasing their rapid rise from hopefuls to acclaimed global artists.
