Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua will visit China from October 13 to 17, marking the first visit by a Thai monarch since the countries established diplomatic relations in 1975.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the king’s state visit comes at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. The visit celebrates the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic ties.
During his stay in Beijing, King Maha is scheduled to meet President Xi and other senior Chinese officials. The discussions will focus on deepening bilateral relations, enhancing economic cooperation, and expanding cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said King Maha will pay a state visit from Oct. 13 to 17 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
In 2024, bilateral trade between China and Thailand reached 133.98 billion dollars, underlining the importance of their economic ties.
Both sides are expected to discuss advancing China-Thailand relations, strengthening economic cooperation and expanding cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
